On Monday 2 October 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley as guests of Mr Matt Anderson PSM, Director, Australian War Memorial, attended a Last Post Ceremony. 

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a dinner in honour of His Excellency Sir Tom Marsters, King’s Representative in the Cook Islands, and Her Excellency Lady Tuaine Marsters.
