On Thursday 19 October 2023, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley received Ms Kirsten Hambly, Director of Western and Southern European Section, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley received His Excellency Dr George Vella, President of the Republic of Malta.

Then, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, and the Governor-General hosted a morning tea for the Australian War Widows New South Wales Branch. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Sydney, New South Wales, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Later, Mrs Hurley, as Patron, and the Governor-General hosted a reception for the Australian War Widows Australian Capital Territory Branch.
