On Tuesday 30 March 2021, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Admiralty House, New South Wales to Government House, Australian Capital Territory.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley hosted a virtual Ministerial swearing-in ceremony at which the Governor-General issued Oaths and Affirmations of Office to the newly appointed Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries, including Senator the Honourable Michaelia Cash, Attorney-General and Minister for Industrial Relations; the Honourable Peter Dutton MP, Minister for Defence; Senator the Honourable Anne Ruston, Minister for Families and Social Services and Minister for Women’s Safety; the Honourable Karen Andrews MP, Minister for Home Affairs; the Honourable Christian Porter MP, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology; the Honourable Stuart Robert MP, Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business; Senator the Honourable Linda Reynolds CSC, Minister for Government Services and Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme; the Honourable Melissa Price MP, Minister for Defence Industry; Senator the Honourable Jane Hume, Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and the Digital Economy and Minister for Women’s Economic Security; Senator the Honourable Amanda Stoker, Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney-General and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industrial Relations and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Women.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Air Marshal Mel Hupfeld AO DSC, Chief of Air Force, laid a wreath at the Centenary of Air Force Commemorative Service.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a last post ceremony at the Australian War Memorial.
