On Wednesday 8 August 2018, at Darling Harbour, Sydney, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, attended the Indigenous Marathon Project Camp, as guests of Mr Robert de Castella AO MBE, Director, where they met with squad members and participated in a group discussion.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, presided over an Investiture Ceremony at which the Governor-General invested Ms Catherine Blanchett AC as a Companion of the Order of Australia for ‘eminent service to the performing arts as an international stage and screen actor, through seminal contribution as director of artistic organisations, as a role model for women and young performers, and as a supporter of humanitarian and environmental causes’.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
