On Friday 8 March 2019 the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Ms Kathy Hirschfeld, President, UN Women’s National Committee, attended the UN Women’s National Committee’s International Women’s day celebration at the Sydney International Convention Centre.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Commodore Robert Plath RAN, Deputy Fleet Commander, presented the Gloucester Cup to HMAS Melbourne at Fleet Base East, Sydney.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Mr John Coates AC, President, attended a dinner to acknowledge their contributions as patrons of the Australian Olympic Committee.
