On Wednesday 22 November 2017, at the Youth Connections centre, Kariong, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chief Executive Officer, Ms Claudia Devlin, viewed the facilities and met with staff and youth.
Afterwards, at Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club, the Governor-General, as Patron, and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of Surf Life Saving Australia, Mr Graham Ford AM, presented Bronze Medallions to women who patrolled the Terrigal beaches during World War Two.
In the afternoon, at Terrigal Public School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mrs Trish Peters, viewed the facilities and met with staff and students.
Later, at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Richmond, as guests of Commander Air Mobility Group, Air Commodore Richard Lennon CSC, visited units, received a briefing on the C-27 Spartan and met with Defence Force personnel.
