On Wednesday 15 November 2017, at Self Advocacy Sydney Inc., Blacktown, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of the CEO, Mr Arthur Bozikas OAM, viewed the facilities and met with staff and volunteers.
In the afternoon, in Bankstown, the Governor-General, as guest of Dr Vinh Binh Lieu OAM, viewed his medical practice and met with staff.
Afterwards, at Banksia Road Primary School, Greenacre, the Governor-General, as guest of the Director, Public Schools NSW Canterbury Region, Mr Christopher Charles, and Principal, Mr Hamish Woudsma, met with staff and students. Later, the Governor-General laid a floral tribute to express support for the school community.
In the evening, at Drummoyne Oval, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted the Governor-General’s XI versus England Women’s Cricket Team Twenty20 match.
Afterwards, Lady Cosgrove presented the Player of the Match trophy to Ms Sarah Taylor, and the Governor-General presented the Governor-General’s trophy to the Captain of the England Women’s Cricket Team, Ms Heather Knight.
