Sydney, Taree, New South Wales

On Sunday 28 March 2021, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) participated in an interview with Sydney Weekend Mornings on ABC Radio.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Linda Hurley, travelled from Government House, Sydney to Taree, New South Wales.

On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Cr David West, Mayor, MidCoast Council, met with council members and received a briefing on flood recovery efforts from the Emergency Operations Centre at the Council Chambers.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Tony Day, Divisional Commander MidCoast State Emergency Service, met with volunteers of the NSW Emergency Service Taree City Unit and representatives from the NSW Police Force, and Fire and Rescue NSW.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Cr West, travelled to Wingham where they met with residents impacted by the floods, and Fire and Rescue NSW staff and Australian Defence Force members assisting with recovery efforts.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Superintendent Christine George, NSW Police Force, visited Taree Estate and met with property owners impacted by the floods.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, travelled from Taree, New South Wales to Government House, Sydney, New South Wales.
