On Thursday 10 June 2010, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, delivered an address to visiting School Captains from forty-two Independent Secondary Schools.

Afterwards, at Peking University, Beijing, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a meeting with the Executive Vice-President and Provost of Peking University, Professor Lin Jianhua. Then, at Peking University, Beijing, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the ???Australian Seminar Series??, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address. In the evening, at the National Centre of Performing Arts, Beijing, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended the Australian Highlights Concert, at which the Governor-General officially opened the Year of Australian Culture in China. Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a National Centre of Performing Arts reception, at which the Governor-General officially launched the exhibition ???Imagine Australia?? ??? Year of Australian Culture in China.
