On Thursday, 21 June 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received a farewell call by the Ambassador of the State of Israel, His Excellency Mr Naftali Tamir. In the evening, the Governor-General, as Prior of the Order of St John of Jerusalem in Australia, and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a dinner to farewell the Chancellor of the Order, Professor Villis Marshall AC and Mrs Margaret Marshall.
