On Thursday 22 February 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received from His Excellency Mr Pang Song Hae, Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Ambassador was accompanied by: Mr Pak Myong Guk (Counsellor); Mr Jin Song Ho (Third Secretary); and Mrs Hwang Mi Suk (Attache), Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery also received Dr Kim Son Hwa.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson, Letters of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador of the Republic of Iceland. Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery hosted to lunch: the Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Dr Kim; the Ambassador of the Republic of Iceland; Ms Lyndall McLean AM; and Mr David Spencer. In the evening, at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney, Their Excellencies, as guests of the Producer of Chugg Entertainment, Mr Michael Chugg, attended the opening night performance of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake.
