On Thursday 27 December 2007, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC toured the new AWM Gallery exhibition: Conflicts 1945 to today, as a guest of the Head of Gallery Development, Ms Carol Cartwright.

Afterwards, at the Royal Military College Chapel, Duntroon, ACT, the Governor-General attended the funeral of the late Brigadier Malcolm Mackenzie-Orr GM OBE.
