On Thursday 5 March 2009, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Lee Myung-bak and Mrs Kim Yoon-ok.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received the President of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Lee Myung-bak and Mrs Kim Yoon-ok. Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a State Luncheon in honour of the President of the Republic of Korea and Mrs Kim Yoon-ok. Guests included: His Excellency Yu Myung-hwan; His Excellency Lee Youn-ho; His Excellency Kim Jong-hoon; His Excellency Dr Kim Woo-sang and Mrs Kwon Moon-young; Ambassador Kim Sung-hwan; Mr Lee Dong-kwan; Mr Byun Moo-keun; Mr Kim In-jong; Mr Choi Yun Shik; Ms Park Myung-schun; Mr Kim Jae-shin; Mr Kim Dong-sun; Mr Lee Kyung-soo; Rear Admiral Ian Crawford AO AM RAN (Retired) and Mrs Catherine Crawford; Mr Sam Gerovich; Senator the Honourable John Hogg and Mrs Sue Hogg; Mr Harry Jenkins MP; Mr Michael L'Estrange AO; Her Excellency Mrs Marta Ortiz de Rosas and Mr Jorge Carvajal; Mrs Gina Rinehart and Mr Tad Watroba; the Honourable Stephen Smith MP; Major General Paul Symon AO and Mrs Kate Symon; and Senator Russell Trood. In the evening, in Woodville, Adelaide, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a reception at the Woodville Community Centre with members of the Australian Sudanese Community.
