On Thursday, 9 August 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Afterwards, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia, the Governor-General, as Patron-in-Chief, officially launched the Community CPS Foundation and presented the Foundation's grant to the Royal District Nursing Service and Life Education. In the evening, at Government House, Adelaide, the Governor General, as Prior, invested the Governor of South Australia, His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AO CSC RANR, as a Knight of Grace, and Mrs Elizabeth Scarce as a Dame of Grace in the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St??John of Jerusalem.
