On Thursday 9 November 2017, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), received the Ambassador-designate to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ms Nicola Gordon-Smith.

In the evening, at the Australian National University, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Chair of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Air Chief Marshall Sir Angus Houston AK AC AFC (Retd), attended the Canberra Symphony Orchestra’s Llewellyn Series Violin final concert.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Concordia College, SA, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.
