On Thursday 20 March 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided a meeting of the Federal Executive Council.   

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Sandringham Primary School, Victoria.   

Then, the Governor-General hosted a morning tea for Ms Joy Wheatley's 101st Birthday. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General travelled from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory to the Gold Coast, Queensland.   

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Mayor Tom Tate, Gold Coast City Council, visited the Surfers Paradise beach recovery staging point.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Cr Tom Sharp, Mayor, Scenic Rim Regional Council, had discussions and met with local community members at Tamborine Mountain. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of Cr Teresa Harding, Mayor, Ipswich City Council, visited residents at Videroni St, Bundamba. 

Later, the Governor-General, with Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland, and Cr Chris Wilson, Deputy Mayor, Lockyer Valley Council, received a briefing at the Lockyer Disaster Coordination Centre, Gatton. 

In the evening, the Governor-General travelled from Amberley, Queensland, to Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
