On Monday 21 October 2019, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Ryoji Chubachi, President, visited the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in Tsukuba, Japan.

Afterwards, in Tokyo, Japan, the Govenor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Norihiko Ishiguro, Senior Executive Vice-President and Board Member, visited the NEC Future Creation Hub.

Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley met with Ms Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley visited Kagurazaka in Tokyo, Japan.
