On Wednesday 23 October 2019, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Mr Richard Court AC, Australian Ambassador to Japan, and Mrs Jo Court OAM, met with children from the National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy (NASCA) at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Mr Court and Mrs Court, met with staff at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Hodogoya.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Yuri Arakida, Deputy Mayor of Yokohama, and Mr Hiroyasu Uchida, President, visited Sankei-en in Yokohama.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Mr Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and Mrs Akie Abe, attended a banquet for foreign Heads of State, Royals, Prime Ministers and other representatives at the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo.
