On Thursday 24 October 2019, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Mr Noriteru Fukushima, Ambassador for International Relations, Tokyo 2020, met with members of the Australian Olympic Kayaking team at the Sea Forest Waterway Canoe Slalom Course in Tokyo.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Tasaka Akihiko, Director for Facilities and Construction, Japan Sports Council, visited the 2020 Olympic Stadium.

In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Mr Richard Court AC, Ambassador to Japan, and Mrs Jo Court OAM, attended a ‘Friends of Australia’ reception at the Ambassador’s residence.
