Tourgeville, Ranville, Ver-sur-Mer, Crepon, Bayeux, Caen, France; Bahrain
On Friday 7 June 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Tourgeville to Ranville.
On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Nicolas Dumont, Curator, visited and met with staff of the Pegasus Bridge Memorial Museum.
Then, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley as guests of Mr Peter Hudson, Vice-Chairman, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Ranville War Cemetery
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Ranville to Ver-sur-Mer.
On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Nicholas Witchell, Founding Trustee, visited and met with staff at the British Normandy Memorial.
Afterwards, the Governor-General participated in an interview with Mr Rob Harris, Journalist, The Age and Sydney Morning Herald.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Ver-sur-Mer to Bayeux.
On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Mr Xavier Puppinck, Director, attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bayeux Cemetery.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley as guests of Mr Loic Jamin, Deputy Mayor, visited and met with staff of the Bayeux Museum.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Cean, France, to Bahrain Airport, Bahrain.
