On Thursday 6 June 2024, Their Excellencies General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley travelled from Tourgéville to Ver-sur-Mer, France
On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of the Rt Hon Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom, attended the United Kingdom's national commemorative event to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
Later, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic of France, attended the international commemoration to mark the 80th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of His Excellency President Macron, attended a reception for world leaders and heads of international delegations as part of the 80th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
In the evening, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley travelled from Ver-sur-Mer to Tourgéville, France
