Transit of Venus; Adelaide Cabaret Festival; Service of Thanksgiving; Governor-General of Canada; Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Secretariat; Queensland Day

On Wednesday 6 June 2012, at the RiAus Science Exchange, Adelaide, the Administrator, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, as guest of The Cook Society Convenor, Mr James Michell AM, attended the ‘Transit of Venus’ lunch and delivered an address.

Afterwards, at Government House, the Administrator and Mrs Liz Scarce hosted a reception for supporters and volunteers of the 2012 Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

In the evening, at Christ Church, North Adelaide, the Administrator and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Reverend Canon Lyndon Sulzberger, attended a service of thanksgiving to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen and delivered the first reading from the Book of Proverbs.

Earlier, at the Berkeley Hotel, London, the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, met with the Governor-General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston.

Afterwards, at Marlborough House, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Secretariat, His Excellency Mr Kamalesh Sharma, attended a lunch in honour of Her Majesty The Queen.

Later, at Australia House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr John Dauth AO LVO, and the Trade Commissioner and Agent-General for Queensland, Mr Ken Smith, attended a reception to mark Queensland Day.
