On Tuesday 13 February 2007 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Special Operations Commander, Major General Mike Hindmarsh AM CSC, Professor of Communications and Media Studies, Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Arts, University of Southern Queensland, Dr Bruce Horsfield, and former Special Operations Commander, Brigadier Jim Wallace AM (Retd).

In the afternoon, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, His Excellency attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of Finland, Her Excellency Ms Tarja Halonen and Dr Pentti Arajarvi. Earlier, in Adelaide, Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery, as Patron of the Country Women's Association of Australia, delivered the keynote address at the National Country Women's Association luncheon.
