On Tuesday, 14 August 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received the Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, the Honourable Mal Brough MP.

Afterwards, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery received the President of the Senate, Senator the Honourable Paul Calvert and Mrs Jill Calvert. In the afternoon, at Parliament House, Canberra, Their Excellencies attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General presented a Commission to the new President of the Senate, Senator the Honourable Alan Ferguson. In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies hosted a reception for delegates attending the Rotary Adventure in Citizenship study program.
