On Tuesday 18 May 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received from His Excellency Mr Mahmoud Babaei, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Gholamali Rajabi Yazdi (Minister Counsellor), Mr Mohsen Rezaei (Counsellor) and Mr Homayun Bozorgnia (First Secretary), Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE also received Mrs Maryam Babaei.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Kriangsak Kittichaisaree, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Ploenpit Meemeskul (Minister), Group Captain Wanchai Nushkasem (Defence and Air Attach?”) and Mr Saksee Phromyothi (Minister Counsellor), Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Sarapee Kittichaisaree. Later, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Abel Guterres, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Ana Guterres and Ms Jacinta Gutteres. Then, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Rui Quartin-Santos, Letters of Credence accrediting him as the Ambassador of Portugal. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Jo??o de Castro Soares (First Secretary), Embassy of Portugal. The Governor-General and Mr Bryce also received Mrs Ana Carlota Meirelles do Canto e Castro. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a reception in honour of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand; the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; and the Ambassador of Portugal.
