On Tuesday 24 March 2009, at the State Guest House, Gaborone, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received the Senior Female Minister and Minister for Local Government, Minister Margaret Nasha.

Afterwards, at the Botswana National Assembly, the Governor-General, as a guest of the Speaker of the Botswana National Assembly, the Honourable Patrick Balopi, toured the National Assembly and viewed the Assembly chamber. In Gaborone, Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as a guest of the President of the Debswana Diamond Company, Mr Molale Eric, toured the Diamond Trading Corporation. Afterwards, in Gaborone, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited the SOS Children's Village. In the afternoon, at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Johannesburg, South Africa, the Governor-General met with Former President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Nelson Mandela. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce commenced a State Visit to the Republic of Mozambique. In the evening, at the Office of the President, Maputo, the Governor-General was received by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, His Excellency Mr Armando Guebuza. Afterwards, at the State House, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce were guests of honour at a State Banquet hosted by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, His Excellency Mr Armando Guebuza. Earlier at Brisbane International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia by the President of the Republic of Nauru, His Excellency the Honourable Marcus Stephen MP, by Commander Geoff Fiedler ADC RAN, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
