On Tuesday 26 February 2008, at Government House, Canberra, His Excellency the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, received from His Excellency Mr Juraj Chmiel, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Daniela Mustillova (Deputy Head of Mission) and Mr Jiri Janicek (Consul), Embassy of the Czech Republic.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received from His Excellency Mr Yogendra Dhakal, Letters of Commission accrediting him as the Ambassador of Nepal. The??Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Shankar Bairagi (Minister/Counsellor), Mr??Narayan Mainali (First Secretary) and Mr Rajan Dhungel (Attache), Embassy of Nepal. The Governor-General and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery also received Mrs Ajita Dhakal. Later, the Governor-General received the Special Operations Commander Australia, Major General Tim McOwan DSC CSM.
