On Tuesday 31 March 2009, at the National Maritime Museum, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO officiated at the Housing NSW 2009 Youth Achievement Awards.
Afterwards, at the Cenotaph, Sydney, the Administrator and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE attended the 88th Birthday Commemoration and Wreath Laying Ceremony for the Royal Australian Air Force. In the afternoon, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator received the Chief Executive Officer of the Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation, Victoria, Dr Ali Khan, and Ms Heli Yoon. Afterwards, at the Museum of Freemasonry, Sydney, the Administrator attended a ceremony at which she officially opened two refurbished Lodge Rooms and a 30th anniversary photographic exhibition. In Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE visited the Plan Tanzania’s Kisarawe Project site of Kibasila Primary School. Afterwards, at the State House, Dar es Salaam, the Governor-General was received by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Mr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce were Guests of Honour at a State Lunch hosted by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Mr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. In the afternoon, in Dar es Salaam, as guests of the Country Director, CARE Tanzania, Mr Paul Barker, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce toured the headquarters of CARE Tanzania and met with CARE Tanzania employees. Afterwards, at the Dar es Salaam War Cemetery, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce laid a wreath in honour of those who have lost their lives in war.
