On Tuesday 7 April 2009 at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, received the Australian High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Kiribati, Mr Brett Aldam.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the National President of Relationships Australia, Mr Harold Bates-Brownsword; the National Director of Relationships Australia, Ms Rhonda Lawson Street; and the Chief Executive Officer of Relationships Australia Canberra and Region, Ms Mary Pekin. In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the President, Australasian College of Road Safety, Mr Lauchlan McIntosh. Then, the Governor-General received the National President, The Order of Australia Association, Dr Neil Conn AO; and the National Chairman, The Order of Australia Association, Mrs Dina Browne AO. In the evening, at Wesley Uniting Church, Forrest, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended an event in support of Compass Youth Education.
