On Tuesday 7 August 2007 at Government House Canberra, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a morning tea for Group Training Australia, at which the Governor-General as Patron officially launched the 2007 program Today's Skills: Tomorrow's Leaders.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Representative Colonel Commandant Royal Australian Artillery, Major General Tim Ford AO (Retd), accompanied by Colonel Don Tait (Retd) and Colonel Ian Ahearn (Retd).
