On Saturday 30 September 2017, at the Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles factory, Vienna, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Managing Director, Mr Bernhard Pöltl, received a briefing on operations and viewed the facility.

Afterwards, at Vienna International Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were farewelled from Austria by the Ambassador to Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Kosovo and the Slovak Republic, His Excellency Dr Brendan Hammer.

In the evening, at Dubai International Airport, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove were welcomed to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Mr Arthur Spyrou.

Earlier, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Administrator, His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, as guest of Chief Executive Officer, Australian Football League (AFL), Mr Gillon McLachlan, attended the 2017 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
