Visit to the United Kingdom

On Tuesday 29 July 2014, in London, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), as guest of Alderman Peter Hewitt, visited the London Guildhall.

Afterwards, at the Honourable Artillery Company, the Governor-General attended a lunch hosted by the Chair of the City’s Social Development Board, Alderman Hewitt and received a briefing on the City of London's development fund and social enterprise projects.

Later, at the Imperial War Museum, the Governor-General, as guest of the Director-General, Ms Diane Lees, viewed the First World War Galleries in recognition of the centenary of the start of World War 1.

In the evening, at Stoke Lodge, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency the Honourable Alexander Downer AC, attended a reception with Australian business leaders.
