On Wednesday, 11 July 2007, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, as Patron of The Wayside Chapel, received Master Joseph McCabe, a fundraiser for the Chapel, accompanied by his mother, Ms Karen Day, and the Director of Youth Services, The Wayside Chapel, Mr Nick van Breda.

In the evening at Parliament House Sydney, the Administrator launched Malu Kangaroo: How the First Children Learnt to Surf, as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations. In The Kingdom of Belgium, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery were conducted on an official tour of the BELvue Museum, and Coudenberg the archaeological site of the former Palace of Brussels.
