On Wednesday 11 March 2009, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC attended a ceremony to issue the Oath of Office to the newly appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Parliamentary Secretary for the Voluntary Sector, Senator the Honourable Ursula Stephens.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator the Honourable Chris Evans. Later, at Morshead Retirement Home, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General launched the Australian Servicemen World War Two Oral Diaries. In the evening, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a dinner in honour of the Honourable Michael Kirby AC CMG.
