On Wednesday 12 May 2010, in Kununurra, Western Australia, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, attended a tree planting ceremony with Kununurra community volunteers in recognition of National Volunteers' Week.
Afterwards, at the Youth Co-Location Hub, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Centre Coordinator, Mr Ken Liddicoat, met with participants of the ???Connections' program. Later, at the Kununurra Town Oval, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Manager, Mr John Duffy, met with participants of the Clontarf Program. Then, at the Pump House Restaurant, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce hosted a lunch for the President of the Shire of Wyndham/East Kimberley, Councillor Fred Mills, and Shire staff. In the afternoon, at the Kununurra District Hospital, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce met with community nurses and patients in recognition of International Nurses' Day. In the evening, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a Civic Reception hosted in their honour by the President of the Shire of Wyndham/East Kimberley, Councillor Fred Mills.
