On Wednesday 14 November 2007, at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a Christmas party for children from: The Spastic Centre; Vincentian Village ??? Society of St Vincent de Paul; Bondi Public School ??? Support Unit; Diabetes Australia; Down Syndrome Association of NSW; Minerva School; Kidney Kids; Royal Far West School; and The Salvation Army.

In the evening, at the Hilton Hotel, Sydney, Their Excellencies attended the 2007 Ethnic Business Awards Gala Dinner, at which the Governor-General delivered the opening address. Earlier, the Governor-General sent a message of congratulations to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales on the occasion of His birthday.
