On Wednesday 18 March 2009, at Government House, Sydney, the Administrator Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO and Sir Nicholas Shehadie AC OBE received the Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Mr Sergey Mironov and accompanying delegation.

In the afternoon, at George's Hall, Sydney, the Administrator attended a ceremony at which she officially opened Advantaged Care at George's Manor. In the evening, at Darling Point, Sydney, the Administrator, as Patron of The National Trust of Australia (New South Wales) and Sir Nicholas, attended a dinner to celebrate the 175th birthday of the ???Lindesay?? historic site. At the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, Port Louis, Mauritius, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which the Governor-General laid a wreath and planted a tree to commemorate her Official Visit to the Republic of Mauritius. Afterwards, at Clarisse House, Mauritius, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Dr the Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam GCSK. Later, at the State House Le R?”duit, the Governor-General met with the President of the Republic of Mauritius, The Right Honourable Sir Anerood Jugnauth GCSK KCMG QC. Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce as guests of honour attended an Official Luncheon hosted by the President of the Republic of Mauritius and Lady Jugnauth. Afterwards, at the Royal Palm Hotel, the Governor-General attended an afternoon tea with prominent Mauritian women. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Dr the Honourable Arvin Boolell. Later, the Governor-General received the Leader of the Mauritian Opposition, the Honourable Paul Berenger GCSK.
