On Wednesday 2 June 2010, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC received a farewell call by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr Saeed Mohammed Al-Shamsi.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Serbia, Dr Helena Studdert. Later, at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a lunch hosted in their honour by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, His Excellency Mr Zhang Junsai and Madame Yin Guomei. In the afternoon, at the National Library of Australia, Canberra, the Governor-General delivered a keynote address at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Australian Women's Archives Project. In the evening, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, the Governor-General attended the ceremonial arrival of the President of the Republic of the Maldives, His Excellency Mr Mohamed Nasheed. Earlier, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the arrival in Australia of the President of the Republic of the Maldives by Commander Gavin Baker RAN ADC, an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.
