On Wednesday 22 April 2009 at Government House, Melbourne, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE received the Premier of Victoria, the Honourable John Brumby MP and Ms Rosemary McKenzie.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the President of the Legislative Council of Victoria, the Honourable Robert Smith MLC, and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Victoria, the Honourable Jenny Lindell MP. Later, the Governor-General received the Leader of the Opposition of Victoria, Mr Ted Baillieu MP. Then, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the Governor-General, Group Captain Phillip Lavelle ADC and Wing Commander Mark Masini ADC. Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Honourable Justice Marilyn Warren AC. In the afternoon, the Governor-General received the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, the Right Honourable Robert Doyle. Afterwards, at The Langham Hotel, Melbourne, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce received Dame Beryl Beaurepaire AC DBE and the Honourable Dame Margaret Guilfoyle DBE. Later, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce visited Open Family Australia and met with members of staff and volunteers. Then, at the National Gallery of Victoria, the Governor-General and Mr Bryce attended a State Reception hosted in their honour by the Premier of Victoria, the Honourable John Brumby MP.
