On Wednesday 25 April 2007, at the Australian War Memorial Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Her Excellency Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service.

Afterwards, at the Australian War Memorial Canberra, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery attended the ANZAC Day Commemorative Service, at which the Governor-General as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force reviewed the march past of service and ex-service associations and later, together with Mrs Jeffery laid flowers of the Stone of Remembrance and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
