On Wednesday 30 May 2007, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, ACT, Their Excellencies the Governor-General Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery attended the Ceremonial Arrival of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Mrs??Jeffery received the President of the Republic of the Philippines, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr Ernesto De Leon; the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Alberto G. Romulo; Senator and Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Foreign Relations, the Honourable Miriam Defensor-Santiago; and the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, Mr Tony Hely. Afterwards, Their Excellencies hosted a State Dinner in honour of the President. The??President was accompanied by: His Excellency Mr Ernesto De Leon; the Honourable Alberto G. Romulo; the Honourable Arthur C. Yap; the Honourable Hermogenes E. Ebdane; the Honourable Peter B. Favila; the Honourable Angelo T.
