On Wednesday 4 April 2007, at Admiralty House, Sydney, Their Excellencies the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC and Mrs Marlena Jeffery hosted a musical evening featuring pianist Mr Rem Urasin and violinist Miss Suyeon Kang.

Earlier, the Governor-General sent a message of sympathy to the Governor-General of Solomon Islands, His Excellency Sir Nathaniel Waena GCMG CSI KStJ, and the people of Solomon Islands following the devastating effects of the recent earthquakes and tsunami.
