Welcoming members of the Australiana Fund; Visit to Cystic Fibrosis Treatment Centre; Launch of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal; Farewell dinner for the Chief of Army
On Friday 8 May 2015, at Admiralty House, Sydney, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), welcomed members of the Australiana Fund for their Annual General Meeting.
Afterwards, at Westmead Children's Hospital, the Governor-General, as Patron of Cystic Fibrosis Australia, and Lady Cosgrove, visited the Cystic Fibrosis Treatment Centre and met with staff, families and patients.
Later, at Rooty Hill Returned and Services League, the Governor-General, as Patron of the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, and Lady Cosgrove, attended the launch of the Salvation Army 2015 Red Shield Appeal.
In the evening, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a farewell dinner for the Chief of Army, Lieutenant General David Morrison AO. Other guests included: Warrant Officer Class 1 David Ashley AM and Mrs Jenny Ashley; Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin AC and Mrs Gitte Binskin; Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick and Mr Hunter Southwick; Major General Michael Crane DSC and Bar AM (Retd) and Mrs Meredythe Crane; Dr Allan Hawke AC and Mrs Maria Hawke; Mrs Gayle Morrison; Mrs Theresa Orme; Mrs Jenny Peachey; Mr Dennis Richardson AO and Mrs Betty Richardson; Major General Michael Slater AO DSC CSC (Retd) and Ms Danielle Morris; Major General Stuart Smith AO DSC and Mrs Karen Smith; and Mr Nick Welch and Ms Belinda Clark.
