Wollongong, NSW; Kiama, NSW

On Tuesday 11 September 2018, at the University of Wollongong, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, met with staff and viewed facilities at the Early Start Centre.

Afterwards, Their Excellencies were welcomed by Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM, Lord Mayor of Wollongong City Council, during a civic reception at the Wollongong Art Gallery, where they met with members of the community.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove viewed the Blue Mile Tramway, as guests of Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM, Lord Mayor of Wollongong City Council.

Then, Their Excellencies travelled to Kiama High School where they met with students and teachers, and were briefed on the “Waste Warriors” project, as guests of Ms Catherine Glover, Principal.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove visited the Seek, Education, Networking, Training, Resilience, Advocacy, Life Skills (SENTRAL) Youth Centre, Kiama, as guests of Councillor Mark Honey, Mayor of Kiama Municipal Council.

In the evening, Their Excellencies attended a civic reception at The Pavilion, Kiama, where they met with members of the community, as guests of Councillor Mark Honey, Mayor of Kiama Municipal Council.
