On Monday 12 September 2011, at the Clarence Rieger Building, Adelaide, the Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as guest of the Executive Director, Ms Maria Makrides, visited the Women's and Children's Health Research Institute.

Afterwards, in Adelaide, the Governor-General as guest of the Director, Ms Madge McGuire, visited Catherine House.

Later, at Scotch College, the Governor-General as Patron and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE, as guests of the Principal, Mr Tim Oughton, attended a lunch with Yalari students.

In the afternoon, at the University of South Australia, the Governor-General as Patron and Mr Bryce, as guests of the Director, Professor Marianne Berry visited the Australian Centre for Child Protection.
