The following decorations are being awarded
- Bravery Medal: 15 (1 person also awarded the Group Bravery Citation)
- Commendation for Brave Conduct: 20 (2 people also awarded the Group Bravery Citation)
- Group Bravery Citation: 3 groups (14 people)
“In a moment of peril, today’s recipients were selfless and brave. On behalf of all Australians, I offer congratulations and thanks," the Governor-General said.
“No one sets out to be brave. No one really knows how, when presented with a dangerous situation, they will act. The men and women that we are celebrating today acted bravely.
“Each found themselves in a perilous situation. There was a threat. They or fellow citizens were in danger and, in that instant, they chose to help.
“Each of their stories is inspirational and speaks to who we all aspire to be. To recipients, wear the recognition you are receiving today with pride. We are proud of you.
