On Tuesday 23 May 2017, at the Inspire Centre, University of Canberra, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove met with staff and participants of the Australian Defence Force Arts for Recovery, Resilience, Teamwork and Skills Program.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General received the Ambassador-Designate to the Kingdom of Morocco, Ms Berenice Owen-Jones.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Prime Minister, the Honourable Malcolm Turnbull MP.

Later, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove hosted a reception for Members of the House of Representatives, at which the Governor-General received the Address-in-Reply from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Honourable Tony Smith MP.

In the morning, the Governor-General received a video call from students attending Horsham Primary School, VIC, as part of their civics and citizenship class.

Earlier, the Governor-General met with students from Barwon Heads Primary School, VIC, as they undertook a tour of Government House as part of their visit to Canberra.

Earlier, the Governor-General sent a message to the British High Commissioner in Australia, Her Excellency Mrs Menna Rawlings CMG, conveying condolences on behalf of all Australians following the terrorist attack in Manchester.
