On Monday 10 April 2017, at Tathra Wharf, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Deputy Mayor of Bega Valley Shire Council, Councillor Liz Seckold, viewed the historic wharf and the Tathra Wharf Museum and met with volunteers and members of the public.
Afterwards, at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Director of Bega Cheese Cooperative, Mr Max Roberts, viewed the facilities and met with staff and volunteers.
In the afternoon, at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Mayor of Bega Valley Shire Council, Councillor Kristy McBain, attended a civic reception.
Afterwards, at Imlay House, Pambula, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Facility Manager, Ms Anne Main, viewed the facilities and met with staff and residents.
Later, at South Cocora Beach, Eden, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Elder of the Yuin and Monaro nations, Pastor Oswald Cruse AM MBE, and his son, Mr Benjamin John Cruse, viewed a dance performance by the Duurunu Miru Dance Group, met with volunteers and viewed part of the Bundian Way. The Bundian Way is an ancient Aboriginal walking route from Eden to Kosciuszko.
