On Friday 25 November 2016, at HMAS Cerberus, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of Commander Luke Ryan RAN, received a briefing on Recruit School operations, viewed the facilities and met with staff.

Afterwards, at the School of Survivability and Ships Safety, HMAS Cerberus, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove viewed a demonstration of a Recruit School class.

Later, at HMAS Cerberus, the Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief and Reviewing Officer, and Lady Cosgrove attended a Navy Ceremonial Division Parade.

Then, at Mornington Secondary College, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove opened the ANZAC WWI Avenue of Honour.

In the afternoon, at Sydney International Airport, the Governor-General was represented at the departure from Australia of Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, by Group Captain Karen Millet ADC.
