On Tuesday 22 November 2016, at Defence Establishment Fairbairn, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), was represented at the arrival in Canberra of Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, by Mr Paul Singer MVO, Acting Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor-General.

In the evening, at the Amora Jamison Hotel, Sydney, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove attended the Australia-Latin America Business Council annual dinner, at which the Governor-General presented the Australia-Latin America Business Excellence Awards.
